Do you ever feel like your Hope has a wasp nest on it?
It isn’t always noticeable. Sometimes you have to look really hard to find it. And when you look really hard and DO find it attached like a noose around your neck…guess what? It’s ok. It’s normal.
Nobody is capable of unwavering happiness and optimism all day every day. Well, I run across people occasionally who try to make you think they are that way, but I can’t hang around that fruit stand very long. It’s annoying! I said it. It is! It’s not real and I prefer to know a real person. Lord knows I’m real. Even on the days my hair is done just so and my clothes make it on my person ironed and starched, you can bet the real me is busy dealing with the wasp nest on my hope. Why? Because I try to live life to the fullest and with life comes wasp nests.
The rub, my friends, is how we cope with these little stingers in life. We could drag our knuckles, fret and whine. But, 8 glasses of water and a gallon of wrinkle cream won’t keep the effects of that persona at bay.
As you go into this new year, take stock of your Hope and if you find a wasp nest, be patient. Wasps don’t stay forever. Notice the words you speak and work to offer more smiles to your friends. This, too, shall pass.
(I had a story about my uncle putting his foot in his boot and getting stung on his big toe and about how it stayed swollen for 3 days and he couldn’t walk. But I decided Naaahhh…)

Well said Kate. Thanks for the reminder.
Thanks for following me over here, Margit!
The best sunshine of my day is spending time with you…and when the alligators are biting I can picture you telling them “you better NOT bother my friend” and I smile
><
Sweetie
Alligators? I don’t know about alligators. I’m kinda freaked out by reptiles…
Kidding!
I’ve got your back, Sweetie!
“This, too, shall pass” has been a phrase that has gotten me through a lot of situations.
Great post, Kate.
Me, too, Jason. Me, too!
Great thoughts and I love the picture!
Thank you for reading! It’s usually an accident when I get a good shot like this, but I do love trying.
