Simple Systems for a Messy Bedroom

If you are a parent, I bet you (at one time or another) have seen a messy bedroom. Then add multiple children to a room and a business or two in that same room and the mess explodes!

In this video you will find photos of the bedroom that belongs to my two boys. It is looking it’s FINEST (just kidding of course! ;-) ) It took all three of us several hours and the implementation of some Simple Systems to getting organized to get it looking good and ready to handle the next several months of their life and business growth!

I would love to hear your thoughts! ;-) What systems have you implemented to help your children grow and still manage to have a room that functions for them and for their goals?

How fast it can all get out of bounds! In our home, after moving to Alabama, we had our oldest two boys sharing a room, talk about too much stuff! We all learned in the last four years that we had entirely too many clothes, we needed fewer “things” in our rooms. The unexpected part of the learning was that it wasn’t just for space, it turns out our stress is reduced GREATLY without so much to take care of….so much to sort and launder, and the children and I found that it was MUCH easier with fewer outfits. When the the children decided as teens that 7 outfits and two for Sunday was what they wanted we noticed everything got easier. We still keep sweaters for winter, and shorts for summer, but it turns out most of the year its simply those 7 outfits with a few accessories traded out for appropriate weather/season.
    Great job!

Wow! Only 7 — that would take some getting used to. I think I may try that! It’s true that there are many clothes that we don’t use/wear. Thanks for the suggestion and the consistent reminders that #BasicsMatter
