A Facebook LIKE page is a social media tool to advertise and interact with your clients and potential clients. Facebook is quickly becoming the resource individuals search for goods and services as well as learn what their friends use for their goods and services. A Facebook LIKE page can be a strong communication and advertising tool for a small business. It is an inexpensive way to provide a way to be found as a business. To begin a Business LIKE page if you already have a personal account, you can go to the bottom of any business LIKE page and choose “CREATE A PAGE”, if you can’t find a page, use the search bar to look up BasicsMatter (we’d love it if you’d LIKE us while you’re there!) which will bring up this page:
You’ll want to follow the directions and fill in information on your information page. If you have a trademark or logo, you’ll want to upload it for the profile picture to provide a place holder until you have something more, or many businesses leave them just that way. You will have a long address like facebook.com/basicsmater5295094824 until you achieve 25 LIKES at which time you can choose to “capture” your username in an easy to follow address.
If you choose to put up more than your logo, you’ll want to be aware that you can EDIT the thumbnail that is visible on your wall by sliding the picture up and down to show what will be seen in the thumbnail on the Edit Profile page
You can get to this choice by one of two ways, you can click on the change picture on the profile picture itself, or go to EDIT page and choose PROFILE to get to this screen.
The FB Page for this website is www.facebook.com/basicsmatter and I can refer to it in our marketing, our newsletters, and on our printed media. It makes sense to use your business name if it is available. If it is a common name, you may wish to add a location such as TheHollyHouse-Decatur for multiple locations if yours is already taken.
There are many ways to connect your Facebook page to your website, blog, and other social media tools. We’ll discuss why this is important in the next segment.
If you need help or graphics designed for your website we’ll be glad to help you. Examples of our work can be found at www.asimplejoy.com. If your business is interested in complete mini web design in Facebook or additional support, She’s So There provides these services or will be happy to help match you to a price and artist appropriate for your business.
